I get an error when I enter my email, what gives?

The error you are talking about is probably this one:

You can't sign in here with a personal account. Use your work or school account instead.

If you're a pupil, that means you need to sign in with your ea.edin.sch.uk/schools.edin.org email address that you use for Teams when at school.

If you're a teacher, that means you need to sign in with your council email address (you've probably done it a thousand times).

In fringe cases where someone might not have an available council email address, the only option you have is to just ask someone to vote for you.

Cats do not have council email addresses.

Can I change my vote?

Yes. Follow the instructions below.

  1. Click here.
  2. If the purple button at the top says "Edit response", skip to step 4. Otherwise, tap "Save my response to edit".
  3. Once you are redirected to the Forms home page, tap the "IMPORTANT VOTE ON RAISINS IN OUR TRAYBAKES" entry with "Filled form" just underneath.
  4. Tap "Edit response" at the top.
  5. Change your vote and hit Submit.

You can do this until polling closes (see the counter at the top of the page).

Can you change my vote on my behalf?

No.

Where can I find the latest Referendum news?

This website is the only official source of information about the Referendum. Updates through the Teams private channel have stopped as of the 20th. If anyone is spreading disinformation, please inform us immediately so we can perform a tactical hard stare.

What is yCyV?

your CAFÉ, your VOICE has been formed to hold the Chambers Café Raisin Referendum and ensure public confidence in the results.

We also aim to permanently end the raisin debate in a way that is acceptable for everyone. Until next month, when everyone starts arguing again.

Where can I find the results?

The results of the Raisin Referendum will be released on this website on the 2nd of December, a day after voting closes, assuming all goes smoothly.

We are the only reliable source of information about the result; you know this because we have a fancy logo and a website.

After the results are released, when will this website shut down?

We will allow the domain to expire a year from now, unless we choose to run some other campaign in which case it will be renewed as needed.

How does the voting system work?

This is all you need to know:

  1. The Referendum isn't an election because nobody is getting elected because this is about raisins and not people, and no, we're not debating the philosophy of that.
  2. One vote, one person.
  3. The specific option with the largest vote share (a plurality) doesn't win automatically. What is a plurality vs a majority? By "specific option" we mean the four individual options, not the two groupings below.
  4. The only "coalitions" are the fixed ones (Raisins Out and Keep/Increase (we call them groupings)) as set out at the start of the Referendum.
  5. If a grouping wins a majority then they have won the referendum, but that doesn't mean they get everything they want. This is the Raisin Referendum, not Brexit.

If someone says something that doesn't align with the five points above, they don't know what they're talking about and you should tell them off straight away.

How do I contact yCyV?

I don't like the result.

That is not a question.
